Life after birth

We've made it home with Lady Eloise and are starting to get settled, as settled as life can be with a newborn and 13 month old!  Here are some pics and details of the last few days:

The birth itself went smoothly.  As previously mentioned, Deb was given pitocin to kick things into gear, which it did, and then an epidural as the contractions became more consistent and painful.  Things seemed to be progressing slowly until the nurse came in around 8:30 PM for another check.  We weren't expecting much based on her last check, but the nurse kicked it into another gear and said to get ready to start pushing...game on!  Amazingly after only two rounds of contractions/pushing and about 9 minutes Eloise had arrived! (sorry other moms)

Life at home has been great so far.  She's been sleeping well (knock on wood), albeit initially in small chunks.  We forgot what a night of 1 to 2 hour chunks of sleep is like.  However we just took her in for her first check up and she's already reached her birth weight so we can let her sleep for longer chunks at night (4 to 5 hours).

Eloise's big brother has been very curious about this new thing we've brought home.  He already wants to play with her so he's learning the word "gentle" very quickly.
